GARDENA, CA (Dec. 2006) -- The Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation(TM) has launched a plan to help it raise $1 million in 2007 for its mission of providing assistance for acute coronary and kidney care for young people. Founded by automotive icon Carroll Shelby, the foundation has secured Shelby's personal 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 for its second annual "Win-a-Shelby" raffle. It will also continue to supply one of the most sought-after autographs in the automotive world as a longstanding fundraiser.

The foundation will be offering raffle tickets to win a very special 2007 Ford Shelby GT500, which came to market this summer as the most powerful production Mustang ever, thanks to its supercharged 500-horsepower V-8. This particular GT500, wearing Vista Blue exterior paint and Performance White stripes, is titled to and owned by race legend Carroll Shelby himself, and will be presented to the lucky raffle winner following the ticket drawing in August 2007.

"We are very excited to offer Carroll Shelby's personal GT500 for our second 'Win-a-Shelby' raffle," said Jenni Shreeves, Executive Director of the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation(TM). "Thanks to the generosity of Ford Motor Company and Shelby enthusiasts worldwide, we hope to eclipse our fundraising efforts from the first raffle and raise even more aid and awareness for children and their families in need."

Raffle tickets can be obtained through the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation for a charitable donation of $25 for a single ticket, or $100 for a block of five tickets. Credit card purchases may be made by calling CSCF at 310-538-0126 or via e-mail ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Additional information about the raffle can be found at www.winashelby.org.

Another point of interest among enthusiasts is Shelby's signature, which can be found on just about every Shelby vehicle, as well as on a variety of memorabilia prized by collectors. As one of the foundation's largest fundraisers, a genuine Carroll Shelby autograph can become a reality in exchange for a $200 donation to the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation.  Information on this process can be found at www.shelbychildrensfoundation.org.

"Many owners of the new Shelby GT500 have been waiting a lifetime to own an original Shelby vehicle and they want to have the car complete with Carroll's signature," said the foundation's Ms. Shreeves. "It is a great way for fans of this man, who has given so much to the automotive world, to help keep his philanthropic vision alive."
